At SXSW, Humetrix Shows Consumer Facing Technology to Support Effective Healthcare Reform
Humetrix mHealth Platforms Empower Patients for More Cost-Effective Care
Del Mar, Calif, March 6, 2017 - At SXSW, as Americans and industry carefully follow the healthcare reform debate in Washington, DC, Humetrix will demo its suite of mobile health platforms that put consumers around the world in control of their own care. By offering actionable mobile solutions that enable consumers to access, understand their own medical data, and put them in context to receive safer and more cost effective healthcare, Humetrix gives individuals the power to direct their own care and control costs.
Humetrix will showcase its award-winning mobile health platforms that are delivering value to healthcare consumers in the U.S. and Europe. Humetrix will be at Stand 704, where attendees will see the following:
iBlueButton – A multi award-winning health record management platform that allows consumers to access, integrate, review, understand and annotate their health records on their iOS or Android devices, in an immediately actionable format. For anyone who wants to better manage their healthcare, iBlueButton makes it easy to assemble and share critical health data wherever they receive care to reduce medical errors and avoid unnecessary and duplicate tests and procedures.
SOS QR – Is a globalized emergency preparedness and response mobile platform for use worldwide. SOS QR runs on Android and iOS phones/Apple Watch and is available in multiple languages: English, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Portuguese. It makes critical health information available to any emergency responder in the local language. It also features an “SOS Button” that users can easily press to alert emergency contacts with their GPS location in an emergency situation and an “OK Button” that they can press to let loved ones know they are safe in a disaster scenario. In the US, SOS QR received the 2016 FCC Chairman’s Accessibility Award and is a winner of the NHS TestBeds Innovation program in the UK.
TENSIO – Is a chronic care coaching platform which assembles connected device and medical history data to generate personalized guidance to users to better manage their chronic condition in consultation with their physician. For the nearly 30 percent of adults diagnosed with high blood pressure, TENSIO assembles their digital blood pressure and other self monitoring device data and health record information, with an onboard expert system to generate on going personal notifications on your phone and Apple Watch that coach you to better manage your hypertension, regarding your medications, exercise, and diet and weight loss regimens.
“To-date, healthcare reform has been essentially provider-centric, leaving patients as passive recipients of a system they don’t control. Effective healthcare reform needs to capitalize on the self-reliance of individuals empowered with technology,” said Dr. Bettina Experton, CEO of Humetrix. “This is critical to prevent the flaws of a complex and disconnected healthcare system: costly medical errors and unnecessary redundant medical care.”
Humetrix has pioneered the development of innovative consumer-centered mobile health platforms over the past 15 years, which have been deployed around the world. In the US, Humetrix is headqurtered in Del Mar, California and London. www.humetrix.com.
