Initiated in 2006 by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), National Health IT Week has emerged as a landmark occasion for using health IT as part of the overall solution to improve America’s healthcare as a bipartisan, federally led, market driven initiative. The September 12 Capitol Hill Technology Showcase is a unique event where policy makers and IT companies will meet to further the place of innovation and today’s latest technology on the Federal healthcare IT agenda.

Eighteen months after the historic vote of the HITECH Act and the subsequent adoption of the first stage Federal requirements for meaningful use of electronic health records, innovative technology solutions are needed more than ever to meet some of the most important healthcare IT needs.
